MAS Player Pro2+ MP3 Hardware Decoder Parallel Adapter for Amiga

This is a MP3 Player hardware for the parallel port of the Amiga Computer. It plays any kind of MP3 files and MP3 radio streams (up to 192 kbps) without stressing the cpu.

MP3 decoder enables your Amiga to play MP3 music files on your hard disk without using your Amiga’s CPU to decode the MP3 files. This is very useful for Classic Amigas that do not have the power to play MP3 music.

Audio output is mixed in hardware between the Amiga and MP3 sound via a standard 3.5mm sound jack. MAS Player evolution features stereo RCA jacks to connect to the Amiga’s audio ports and route the Amiga sound through the MAS Player.

This hardware is compatible with the existing original MAS Player software. System requirements match the MAS Player software. 68020 or better CPU with at least 2MB of Fast Memory recommended.

Easy to set up. Anyway some knowledge of Amiga computer and Amiga system are required.

This listing is for MAS Player Pro2+ only! Type-C USB charger, jack, RCA cables and floppy disk with driver and software are not included!

Quick installation instruction:

1.) Switch off your Amiga

2.) Connect MAS Plater Pro2+ into your parallel port of your Amiga computer

3.) Connect your Jack/RCA cables to MAS Player Pro2+, Amiga RCA audio ports and your amplifier/speakers.

4.) Connect your Type-C USB charger to your MAS Player Pro2+

5.) Download MHI driver for MAS-Player from aminet available here: https://aminet.net/package/driver/audio/mhimasplayer

Unpack it on your hard drive and copy 2 files - mhimaspro.library and mhimasstd.library from Libs/MHI to SYS:libs/MHI

6.) Restart your system

7.) Launch any sofware for MAS Player and in the settings enable MHI with mhimaspro.library.

Please note that internet connection on your Amiga computer is required to listen MP3 radio streams! As the parallel port will be in use with MAS Player Pro2+ you cannot use same time internet via Plipbox. Internet connection must be provided in different way for example through PCMCIA port using LAN/Wi-fi ethernet cards, Warp turbo card or any other ethernet cards which are not using parallel port.
