This compact device allows you to easily transfer files between different Amiga models, as well as between an Amiga and a PC, via the parallel port.
The SDBox must be powered by an external power source. Thanks to the USB-C connector, you can use any standard phone charger and USB-C cable. Once connected, your microSD card will appear on your Workbench system just like any other drive.
Features:
- Very compact size - only 59 x 43x 15 mm
- Weight: 25 grams
- Works with all Amiga models (Note: Amiga 1000 requires a gender changer for the parallel port).
- Compatible with all Kickstart versions 1.3 and higher.
- Supports partitions up to 4GB. You can use larger microSD cards, but you must create a partition smaller than 4GB (e.g., using "Disk Management" in Windows).
- Support Hot Swapping: Supports removing and inserting microSD cards while the Amiga is powered on.
- Easy Installation: Simply copy several files to your system.
- Supports FAT and FAT32 only.
- Depending on your hardware and configuration, disk transfer speeds will typically range from 100 to 300 KB/s.
To get it working, you will also need:
- microSD card (not included)
- Phone charger with USB-C cable (not included)
Important Notes:
- Not all microSD cards are compatible with SDBox.
- Please note that the device does not perform CRC verification during file transfers. We recommend manually verifying your files after copying, especially for important data or backups.
- If you see a "bad number" error message when trying to mount SD0, it is likely an indication that your specific microSD card is incompatible with the SDBox.
Quick Installation Manual:
1.) Switch off your Amiga. Connect the SDBox to the parallel port. (Warning: Never connect the SDBox while the Amiga is powered on!)
2.) Connect your USB-C phone charger to the SDBox.
3.) Switch on your Amiga and boot your Workbench system.
4.) Download our driver archive and:
- Copy fat95 to your SYS:L folder.
- Copy spisd.device to your SYS:Devs folder.
- Copy SD0 and SD0.info to any location on your hard drive, or copy them to SYS:Devs/DOSDrivers to mount the card automatically at startup.
5.) Restart your system.
6.) Double-click the SD0 icon (or wait for it to mount automatically if placed in DOSDrivers).
7.) Wait a little bit for mounting
8.) The new device will appear on your Workbench desktop.
